Land of opportunity

I saw the front page photo on USA Today, a close up of the ‘crowds’ of illegal immigrants demanding US citizenship. They say they deserve to be U.S. citizens because they are contributing members of our society.

Fair enough. So let’s get the paperwork started for all of them. They can then all go back to Mexico to wait while their app is processed. If they attempt to sneak back in before then, they automatically lose their place in line and, rather than deporting them, we toss their ass in jail. There is a lot of freeway that needs to be clean.

Granted this is complex issue and I fully admit that some part of what I say is coming out of my ass partly due to not much sleep, but I submit to you, not much.

Why doesn’t this new legislation address the criminal employers that get away scott-free with exploitating most of these illegal aliens in the first place? It is our own U.S. citizens that have allowed this problem to get so out of proportion.

I submit that just as much as Vincente Fox is unable or willing to deal with corruption in his government our own U.S. government is unable to deal with criminal Agri-business owners that get to exploit cheap, tax free, labor in many cases and free medical care for there workers from our state subsidized hospitals.

These employers are the true criminals in all of this. Lock their asses up in prison for 10-20 years, seize their assets and force them to pay restitution to the state for all the tax payer funded social services their workers have used!

If there wasn’t a demand for labor and lax enforcement of immigration law we would have to write new legislation or grant amnesty. In short we might not be in the situation we are today.

Another option is to just go back to the old system of seasonal worker status. Provide a legal way to track and allow Mexican nationals to cross over and work in our country part of the year and make sure they go back home when harvest is over.

If they truly wish to stay in our country and become citizens than assimilate our culture and learn the native tongue.

You have fallen prey to a smoke screen.

Sit down, drink a beer or other relaxing activity of your choice. And think about what I am about to suggest to you. Back away from this issue and think about 2006 as a whole.

With the midterm elections looming the Republicans as always want to get the faithfull to the polls. With the war going so badly, the faithfull don’t go when their guy is in the White House.

So the Republicans used focus groups to figure out what the most devisive pasionate issue is for the faithfull and entered a bill to Congress. Make illegals Fellons!

This issue has been around for DECADES. But we will bring it up now. Why? Because the President is very low in the polls with the WAR. Oil and the price of Gas is up, up, up. So we need to send out a smoke screen to make them forget about the WAR.

The most beautiful part is DEMOCRATES forget TOO! Look at all the people that were marching for illegal immigrant rights! And they can’t even vote. Or if they did, they probably wouldn’t have voted for us Republicans anyway.

And after the election, everyone forgets, and were back to the original dumbed down level and remember… Damn, I’m pissed about this War…

I’ve known you for years so I feel I can say the following to you within the confines of deep friendship. You are truly full of shit.

    1) This issue of illegal aliens has been going on for years. It’s not something the Republicans have suddenly pulled out of their ass to save themselves and distract the sheeple. For years, advocates of the illegal aliens have been working to make illegals American citizens in all but name, with all attendant rights thereof. If this isn’t an obvious fact to you, you haven’t been paying attention. It’s definitely obvious to me that you haven’t seen pictures of the rallies in LA. If you had, you’d be as offended and disgusted as I was.

And, Dave, illegals are felons, because, well, they are here illegally.

    2) The war in Iraq is not going as badly as you seem to think it is. The reason I’m much more optimistic that you are may be that I don’t go to the traditional media outlets for my information. I go as directly to the source as I can. I would suggest reading Michael Yon’s site, http://www.michaelyon-online.com/. He actually goes to Iraq and does more than sit around a hotel room waiting for his stringers to give him information. He actually goes with the soldiers on patrol and writes what he sees first hand.

The traditional media outlets are biased against the war. All you will ever get from them is negative news, despite the fact that a lot of good is being done in Iraq, both by the Iraqis themselves and us.

So, Dave, I would submit to you, sit down and relax about the war.
